Thousands of pictures

I snapped thousands of photos. And my weakness, was to upload my photos to the blog.  I need to select the best photo and to chip in watermark to the photo.  It was really time consume.  All the while I have been using Photoscape.  But now, I have moved to fotor.com.  I loved the font that I can choose from fotor.com. :)

Create Memorable Birthday Party Goodie Bags With A Limited Budget

Goodie bags are the expected thing when one goes to a party, but we don't have to expect, or give, junk. Nicer goodie bags don't have to be expensive, either. Start a trend with your child's next birthday party by giving goodie bags that are creative and frugal with the help of these few simple tips.

Musical Goodies

Consider making your own music CDs. Children love listening to music from their favorite show or movie. Packs of CDs are relatively inexpensive and can even be found at your Dollar Store. You can also make your own CD covers with a printer, or print off labels and stick onto the CD. Or have your child draw a fun cover, then take it to an office supply store and have them copied for each CD.

This is a goodie that can last, and be appreciated, for years. Check online for downloads for free music tracks. If you are having a themed party, keep that theme in mind when you pick out the music.

Playful Goodies

If you do want to buy a bunch of little things from the dollar store, buy things like rubber balls, skipping ropes, books, puzzles, and things that will entertain and teach at the same time.

Make the goodies a part of the fun by giving them out at the beginning of the party. For instance, if the party is a summertime event with a focus on water fun, include water squirters, pool toys, and other things to enjoy outside. Your goodie bags are now doing double-duty; they are part of the party fun, and the goodies go home with the kids.

Tasty Goodies

Bake your own goodies for affordable and delicious treats. Bake cookies, rice krispie squares, or brownies. Then wrap them tightly and put them in the goodie bag to take home.

You might even want to make sugar cookies in the shape of girls and boys, then use the frosting to 'monogram' a cookie with each child's name for a personalized goodie bag. You could also use alphabet cookie cutters to put the child's initials in their goodie bag. These personalized goodie bags will be the hit of the party, and they are inexpensive to make.

Crafty Goodies

Discount stores, dollar stores, and even thrift and resale shops are great places to find lots of cheap things for crafts. Fill the goodie bag with a bunch of crafty stuff and let the party-goers use their imagination. Don't worry too much about what you have, just mix and match, set out the glue and scissors, and let the supplies lead the kids down the road of creativity. Or, have an example of a craft item already made and on display. Then just have the craft items in the goodie bags for the kids to make their own.

Another goodie bag that doubles as an activity would be to ask each child to bring an old t-shirt and have all the craft items in the goodie bag to embellish their own shirt. You can do the same with headbands, barrettes, hats, bracelets, necklaces, and other apparel as well, by either providing the item or using old items and making them over with the things in the goodie bag. These fun, and personal, items are always more appreciated than a bag of tiny junk that takes no thought.

There are many ways to create affordable goodie bags if you use your imagination. Ask your children what they like, do some research online, ask other parents what their kids would like, and always be on the hunt for great deals wherever you go. Come up with something different and creative and both parents and children will remember the   goodie bags from your child's birthday as being thoughtful and fun.
